Villarica volcano towers 2,847 meters above sea level.  It is an active volcano situated close to Pucon whose summit is snow capped all the year round and from it you can see a wide sector of the lakes region. The path up the mountain makes it possible for even inexperienced travelers to climb to the summit and enjoy an unforgettable experience.

Every morning we set out (depending on the weather) in the direction of the mountain and after a 45 drive we arrive at the point where we start our climb on foot. Following a short appraisal of the view, we receive our instructions and start to climb. The climb takes 5-6 hours and ends when we arrive at the volcano's crater. After viewing the landscape at the summit, sometimes you can see the lava bubbling inside the crater, we begin our descent.

It takes about two hours to descend from the summit, some of the way sliding in an unforgettable way on your backside. At the bottom of the path the vehicle will be waiting to take us back to Pucon.

The equipment includes climbing boots, a climbing pick, wind and water proof trousers and jacket, crampons (spikes for walking on ice) and gloves.

The cost of the climb includes the hiring of the complete equipment, a professional English speaking guide, insurance, entry to the park and transportation.
